This training course for advanced works councils helps you to deepen the knowledge and skills you need to function even more effectively within the works council in just one or two days. The training focuses on in-depth aspects of employee participation, enabling you as a works council member to exert more influence on decision-making and organizational developments.

We start with an introduction and an assessment of your works council’s learning needs. Based on this, we put together a customized program that matches the phase your works council is in and current issues within the organization. This ensures that the training is always relevant and directly applicable.

This training offers works council members in-depth knowledge and skills needed to perform their duties and responsibilities with greater strategic insight. We focus on the effective application of the WOR (Works Council Act), strengthening decision-making, teamwork, and communication within and outside the works council, so that you, as a works council, immediately have more influence within your organization.

After this training, you will have:

  • Learned from examples of other works councils                                               Discover inspiring case studies and success stories from other works councils and translate these into your own practice.
  • Gained in-depth knowledge of rights and responsibilities                                  Delve into the legal position of the works council, the division of roles with the director, and the relationship with the constituents.
  • Practiced with practical examples from your own organization                        Work on current case studies, advisory and consent processes, and strategic issues within your organization.
  • Learned to collaborate more effectively as a works council                                 Gain insight into mutual qualities, roles, and communication styles and learn how to make the most of them, possibly with the help of DISC.
  • Gain more control over representation and influence                                      Develop a clear strategy to translate the voice of the rank and file into robust discussions and negotiations with management.
  • Learn to work with different decision-making methods                                    Theory and practice with Deep Democracy and/or Win-win Negotiation and the BOB model. We will also teach you how to change perspectives with the Works Council.

Study load

The in-depth training for the Works Council can be followed as a one-day or two-day training course. Together, we tailor it to your learning objectives and available time.
